A tale of two towns - the divergent views of Slough's and Windsor's MPs

Slough and Windsor may be two towns only walking distance apart, but the views of their MPs on Brexit are very different.

Slough and Windsor's MPs both voted against the government's EU withdrawal agreement, but for opposite reasons.
Windsor's MP wants a harder Brexit, and to keep no-deal on the table, whereas Slough's MP took the more sensible (in our opinion approach) of voting it down in favour of a softer Brexit and in favour of taking no-deal off the table. It's not quite supporting the People's Vote, but it's a great start.

Latest newsletter out - 14 days left to halt Brexit

The Ides of march was historically a turning point in history. With just 14 days left until the UK's departure from the EU by automatic operation of the law, lets hope that this still holds true. To catch up on everything that has been going on, our latest newsletter is now out, with information about our recent street stalls, the upcoming People's Vote March, campaigning in London with SODEM, the Reading Half Marathon and lots more.

Saturday 16th March - Our last day of campaigning before the People's Vote March

We are running a street stall on Slough High Street on Saturday 16th March from 14:00-16:00, in the area outside Boots (Full address: 184 High St, Slough, Berkshire, SL1 1JR).

The focus is going to be on publicising the upcoming People's Vote March the following weekend - so although the Brexitometer will be there, we will mainly be leafleting.

This is the seventh week that we've been there this year and so far it has been very well received by the majority of people that we have spoken to.

Join Slough for Europe's People's Vote campaigning on Saturday 2nd March

With less assistance than usual (but hopefully still with one or two volunteers from further afield), we are running a street stall on Slough High Street on Saturday 16th February from 14:00-16:00, in the area outside Boots (Full address: 184 High St, Slough, Berkshire, SL1 1JR).

It will feature a Brexitometer where people can indicate their opinions anonymously, and leaflets on the People’s Vote. Volunteers will be happy to answer any questions that members of the public might have about The People’s Vote, Brexit and the EU, as well as explaining what they can do to help.

Windsor & Maidenhead residents concerned over their Council's lack of Brexit preparedness

A while ago, we noted that Slough Borough Council had taken the decision to set aside contingency funds in case of a hard Brexit.

It has long seemed odd that neighbouring Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead council has supported Brexit (both the leader of the council and both their MPs) but seems unwilling to do anything to actually prepare for it.
